Who are the Guilford Republicans? Guilford Republicans have a vibrant history and a long tradition of beneficial service to the community. Republicans are founded on the principles of individual liberty and personal responsibility. We value the worth and dignity of every citizen. Republicans believe in limited government and its role to provide essential services to maintain an ordered and just society. We subscribe to sound public fiscal policies, recognizing that public expenditures must be balanced against the citizens’ need to be free of unreasonable taxation. We look first to our own resources and secondly to an open and honest government to improve the quality of life in GUILFORD.
Our main purpose is to promote and support the appointment and election to public service of able and qualified Republican individuals who subscribe to:
Most importantly, Republicans promote good citizenship, upholding public service as both an honor and privilege, while imparting accountability on all commissions, boards or committees. We advocate for and take pride in the Republican Party and all those who serve in elected and/or volunteer positions.
As Chairman of the Guilford Republican Town Committee, I encourage our residents to become involved in and informed about the Town we all call home!! Whether it is as a Town Committee member, volunteer, or commission member…join fellow Republicans as we continue to work to provide an efficient, fiscally conservative, and effective Town government that represents you -- the Citizen of Guilford.
Sincerely,
Kenneth E. Wilson, Jr.
Chairman-Republican Town Committee
Guilford is known for its wonderful quality of life, excellence in education and great tradition of volunteerism. None of these attributes could be achieved without citizens on our town committees contributing their time and talents serving on elected or appointed boards or commissions.
One of Connecticut's oldest communities, Guilford offers many opportunities for visitors, residents and business owners. Whether it is boating on Long Island Sound, hiking our open space trails, or shopping around the Green, there is something for everyone. Guilford is a vibrant community. We strongly encourage new economic development and work diligently to retain our current businesses.
There are many opportunities to serve our town and I encourage anyone to get involved who has the time and desire to preserve our past and foster our growth.
